What owning 100+ Scentsy warmers has taught me.

Owning more than 100 warmers has taught me that the prettiest warmer is not always the best warmer for the room.

A few things matter more than people realise.

Think about the size of the space, where the warmer will sit, whether you want it to give off light, and whether the style actually suits the room. A mini warmer can be perfect in a smaller space, while a larger warmer may suit somewhere more open.

Lighting matters too. Some warmers throw a lot more light than others, so if you want something subtle in a bedroom at night, that is worth thinking about before you choose.

And sometimes you genuinely do not need another warmer. If you already have one you love and it works where you need it, I am not going to talk you into buying another one just for the sake of it.

Which Scentsy Warmer Is Right for You?

Scentsy warmers come in different styles, so choosing one really comes down to where you want to use it and whether you prefer a decorative glow or something a little more subtle.

Full-Size Element Warmers Element warmers use a built-in heating element to gently warm your Scentsy wax without needing a light globe. They’re a great option if you want fragrance without the extra light. The recommended amount is up to 4 cubes of Scentsy wax in the warmer dish.

Full-Size Light Warmers Light warmers use a Scentsy light globe to warm the wax while also giving off a decorative glow. Different warmers use different wattage globes, so always use the globe recommended for your warmer. The recommended amount is up to 4 cubes of Scentsy wax in the warmer dish.

Mini Wall Plug Warmers Mini warmers are designed for smaller spaces and generally use 1 cube of Scentsy wax. Wall Plug Mini Warmers plug directly into the wall, making them perfect when you don’t want to use bench, shelf or table space.

Mini Tabletop Warmers Mini Tabletop Warmers use the same smaller warmer designs but sit on a corded tabletop base. They’re ideal for shelves, benches, bedside tables or anywhere a wall plug version doesn’t suit. One cube of wax is generally all you need.

Scentsy Wax vs Soy Wax Melts: What’s the difference?

Soy wax melts are made using soy-based wax, while Scentsy Wax Bars use a specially designed wax formulation made to work with Scentsy Warmers.

One of the important differences is how the Scentsy system is designed. Scentsy Bars have a low melting point, while Scentsy Warmers use low-wattage light globes or heating elements to gently warm the wax and release fragrance.

Soy wax melts and the warmers used with them can vary between brands, so I always recommend following the instructions provided by the manufacturer of the wax and warmer you’re using.

My favourite Scentsy warmer trick

One little trick I use with my own Scentsy warmers is smart plugs.

I can set my warmers to turn on before I get up in the morning, switch them off automatically, control them from my phone without having to walk around the house switching them on and off.

It doesn’t change how the warmer works. It just makes using the warmers I already own much easier.

Choosing Scentsy wax melts is more personal than people think

I don’t choose Scentsy wax melts for people based on what is popular. I start with the fragrances you already know you like.

Fresh, fruity, floral, bakery, woody, citrus, sweet, clean, strong or soft. Even telling me what you absolutely cannot stand helps me narrow down the Scentsy fragrances that are more likely to suit you.

Room size matters too. A fragrance that feels perfect in a bedroom can feel completely different in a larger living area, and some people naturally prefer a lighter scent throw while others want something they notice as soon as they walk in.

I use plenty of wax myself, so if you are stuck between a few fragrances, ask me. I’d rather help you narrow it down than have you buy a stack of bars you end up not loving.
